Some Of Advancements In Carbide Inserts Coming From Iscar

Iscar is introducing a completely new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has considerable advantages in comparison to the current flat, square shapes. The new design has numerous cutting edges, positive rake face, diminished cutting forces resulting in better performance. The carbide inserts are screw-clamped on the border of various milling cutter types, providing unsurpassed conditions also for heavy-duty applications with excellent surface quality, saving several other finishing operations. End mills are presented for 90 degree shoulder milling and for facing with 45 degree lead angles.

Each carbide insert possesses 8 cutting edges, four for right-hand and four for left-hand cutting, improving the economy of use. The two, toward-center-slanted cutting edges supply on one side strong and accurate clamping of insert in the tool body, and on the other side, the positive axial rake angle. The usability of this positive axial rake composition reduces the cutting forces owing to softer cut and easier penetration into the metal, as well as changing force direction which is critical for use on new machining centers with pallet systems less rigid than on the conventional transfer lines.

In normal applications like in the auto industry, the depth-of-cut is less than thirty thousandths of an inch providing the use of all 8 cutting edges of the Tangmill carbide inserts. Furthermore, in the auto industry it is popular to use a pair of cutters, one for right- and one for left-handed operations, which means that all eight cutting edges of the Tangmill inserts can be applied.

New ISCAR UPGRADES for Fast Metal Removal

Recent progress coming from the headquarters of Iscar, delivering the new Upgrade campaign, which guarantees that they are looking to the future. The new Upgrade movement, proposed to be distributed at the end of year 2008, will offer cutting edge tools for milling, turning, hole making and multifunction applications, complementing the FMR (Fast Metal Removal) tool families with one aim in mind - to boost productivity on the shop floor and to boost profits.

Iscar's focus for this year, with no doubt, are the new coatings, new substrate compositions, new cutting edge geometries, new sizes, new tangential clamping mechanisms and new coolant nozzle functionality. Iscar's future trends unite new carbide insert grades for effectual and time-saving machining, more cutting edges for each insert and superior tangential clamping mechanisms which will significantly cut down the cutting forces. The induction of the AL-TEC, PVD coating largely for nodular cast iron, a-TECH, CVD coating principally for grey cast iron and the DO-TECH, dual CVD PVD coating for upgraded strength will remodel the way industry machines cast iron. Furthermore, Iscar producing mini inserts is an additional trend within the Upgrade movement, referring to reducing the sizes of the Tangmill carbide inserts into Minitang, in order to assist fine pitch configuration which will quicken feed rates. In addition, the minimal size of the carbide inserts and their tangential location in the pockets allow a much larger core diameter, in terms of tool configuration, when compared to regular radially positioned inserts.

Several Advancements Have Expanded Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Heightened Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

Completely New Tools And Carbide Insert Shapes From Iscar To Better Improve The Machining Process
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Push Pull Testing For Building Industry Supplying Calibrated Gauges. Stress Load Testing Procedures For On Site Proof To Testing Requirements.
Push Pull Testing for the Railway industry for proof of reliable anchor fixings. Calibrated push pull force gauges are used for stress load testing along with tensile strength pull testing procedures. Proof of load testing undertaken, measured, recorded in a reliable and standard way to BS5080 Part 1 standards.

Iscar Adds Their Most Recent Creations To A Lengthy Line Of Outstanding Hole Producing Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These new products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their experience Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to increase productivity for the end user.

The Most Recent In Carbide Endmill Configuration In A Long And Prosperous Line From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can eliminate chatter problems in many milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree endmills. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern eliminates harmonic vibration, the main source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling.
